We focused on the letter "E" this week during our learning time & our theme was zoo animals since E is for Elephant. I thought this would not only be fun, but also be a good time to do this theme since we are headed to the San Diego Zoo next week. The crazies loved all of the crafts -- we practiced our shapes by making a paper plate tiger, we used our handprint to paint an elephant, we glued to make some colorful peacocks, & we cooked some Monkey Bread. D knows that recipe by heart & I know that if I ever die, it will be the one food outside of Taco Bell that the crazies would eat since he knows how to make it. I'm thrilled because D is becoming more confident in his handwriting -- this is how we start our learning time everyday -- he practices our letter for the week & then writes all of the letters he has learned thus far. He can even see the improvement & gets excited knowing he can write! Below are some pics of our week.
Our focus letter "E"
D doing writing practice
"Hey Look Mom!!!"
K doing some motor skill math -- I have about 10 bags to keep her busy
D did a matching game with the animal cards
K used the same cards to match, just not by memory, so it was pairing them alike ones.
D practiced putting things in order -- big to small & tall to short -- using animals
Emergency also begins with E so we used emergency car stickers to do the 9
D colored the balloons on this elephant to count to 25
K worked on some puzzles
Our paper plate tiger

And gluing the peacock to make it colorful
